here's what you can expect

Our sessions should feel like a casual meet up with an old friend who just happens to bring her camera. We're not worried about perfect curls or photoshopping bruises ( although we will still say "cheese" a few times! ) more so the way it feels remembering when dad tossed baby in the air, how it smelled when grandma made her famous cookies, when mom set up the nursery for her first born, or that seat at the bar where it all began.
Feel those fuzzies? THAT'S what we're after.
No two sessions are the same. I'll get to know your little fam bam more and more each time we see each other and love them as my own. Nothing forced. Time for breaks. And good music, always.

1. IT'S A DATE
Pick a date via my scheduler then check your e-mail. Fill out the questionnaire, sign your contract + pay your retainer. I'll go over everything to prep for your session - and we can start styling! Don’t see a date that works? Fill out my contact form + I'll reach back within 72hrs!
2. LET'S MAKE MAGIC
Time to brainstorm. Tell me your ideas! What is your reason to get some photos taken? During this time we'll chat & prep all the nitty gritty details for your day. Location, wardrobe, specific photos you want to make sure I capture, etc. I will also chat with you about timing related to lighting (and nap time!) I'm comfortable in any light and want your whole family to be happy campers.
3. LAID-BACK LAUGHTER FILLED SESSION
I love a candid moment.
I encourage having activities / ideas already in mind for children or a location that spurs creative play / going places you find yourself at all the time naturally. I ESPECIALLY encourage a session at home. I focus on movement + authenticity versus posed portraiture. That means, I do minimal posing but provide prompts to enhance interactions. Don’t stress! I’ll still guide you the whole time by asking questions, playing games, and getting to know you and your family. And yes! I still get a few of everyone smiling.
My sessions are family-run.. if we need breaks to run around, snack, nurse, or just hang out for a sec - we do that! I love connection, interaction and beautiful light. I shoot a variety of angles and will guide you on what to do while still being yourself. I recommend leaving all items in your car (I can hold keys and a phone!) - I'll keep shooting as we move between locations, chatting about your family, and listening to all of your favorite songs.
4. YOU'VE GOT MAIL
4-6 weeks after your session, you'll receive an email to view your online gallery. I allot this amount of time to put my whole heart and creativity into every stinky detail of your session + develop your film. I typically know the day of your session how much editing I have ahead of your images.. so feel free to ask as it may be sooner than later! You will receive a link to your gallery to download your images + will be available for 30 days after delivery
Your gallery includes a print release so you can print anywhere you’d like. Your gallery also provides options for printing a variety of amazing products through professional printers at an affordable price directly through my website, if you wish to do so.
